For many young people, the first day of their vocational training marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in their professional lives. This year, the family-owned company Wirthwein Medical in Mühltal welcomed eight new trainees who started their careers in commercial and industrial apprenticeships.
The first day of training began with a warm welcome by the trainers for the new recruits, followed by a presentation that introduced the new trainees to the most important aspects of the company. A subsequent tour of the various departments gave the young people first insights into the work processes.
Adventures on the water
To make it easier to get started with training and to strengthen team spirit, the second-year trainees organized a canoeing trip on the idyllic River Lahn.
Once arrived at the starting point, the group put on life jackets, were given paddles, and, after a brief introduction, set off. They paddled downstream in several canoes, passing green banks and the occasional thrilling rapid. Heavy rain surprised the group on the way, which, however, made the adventure even more exciting
Afterwards, paddles were replaced by barbecue tongs and the group ended the day with a relaxed barbecue in Traisa and reviewed the adventure over delicious food and in a great atmosphere.
Not only was the excursion a pleasant change from daily work routine, it was also an excellent opportunity to get to know each other better and strengthen team spirit.
