Increasing customer demands
For example, within ten weeks of tool construction time and a hand-in-hand coordinated shortened qualification and validation time, three 64-cavity series tools for coronavirus test systems were brought into series production in record time. In addition, production units for required product groups were expanded and extended at two Wirthwein Medical plants to minimize risks. New, fully automated assembly lines with customer-specific assemblies such as joining processes and filter assemblies as well as camera inspections were also implemented on schedule in shortened, so-called fast track projects. Together, the team managed the complete year 2020 without delivery interruptions and while maintaining all series productions under challenging Corona hygiene measures and framework conditions.
Flexibility and responsiveness are the keys to implementing customer-specific projects. Customer and market requirements could be met through highly efficient planning and implementation of high-cavity precision molds with minimum possible cycle times. Wirthwein Medical manufactures with the goal of highly automated injection molding, assembly, and extrusion blow molding processes in the range of four-digit million units per year for the diagnostics, medical, and pharmaceutical industries.
