Starting an apprenticeship is a special milestone for young people and, at the same time, the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. Once again this year, the family-owned company Wirthwein Medical in Mühltal welcomed its new apprentices, who are now embarking on their professional futures in various commercial and industrial apprenticeship programs.
The first day of training began with a warm welcome from the trainers. During a presentation, the new colleagues received an initial overview of Wirthwein Medical and the corporate group, as well as important information about their training. During a subsequent tour of the various departments, they were able to gain their first insights into work processes and get to know some of their new colleagues.
Out and About Together on the solar- powered rail bike
To encourage everyone to get to know one another and foster team spirit right from the start, a joint training outing was once again on the agenda this year.
Together, they headed to the Odenwald. There, the first special activity of the day was already waiting for them: a ride on the Überwaldbahn’s solar-powered rail bike. Along the former railroad track, the group explored the diverse landscape of the Überwald together. It also required a bit of physical effort: Working as a team, the trainees set the rail bike in motion by pedaling together and completed the route as a group.
After their group rail tour, they continued on to the Wald-Michelbach Adventure Park. On the summer toboggan run, the trainees and their instructors were able to pick up speed on thrilling descents into the valley and have a lot of fun together. Whether they preferred a leisurely ride or something a little faster, there was something for everyone.
To wrap up the eventful day, the group went out to dinner together. In a relaxed atmosphere, there was plenty of time to reflect on the day’s experiences, strike up conversations, and get to know each other better outside of the daily work routine.
